Little Venice
Little Venice is part of Mykonos Town so called because of the two
storey, brightly painted, Venetian style houses that seem to be right on
the waves.
The Windmills
A landmark of Mykonos, the four windmills are situated on a hill
opposite Little Venice in Mykonos Town. From here, there is a
magnificent view.
Island of Delos
Delos has been the spiritual centre of Greece since ancient times when
it was regarded as the birthplace of Artemis and Apollo. The Island of
Delos is a UNESCO heritage site. Taxi boats operate daily trips from
Plati Gialos.
Archaeological Museum of Mykonos, near port
Interesting finds from the various excavations.
Archaelogical Museum of Delos, near Ano Mili
An interesting collection of agricultural tools is on display.
Folkore Musuem, Kastro
Until tourism took off on Mykonos, the locals had to scratch around
trying to make a living from the meagre earth of the island and from the
sea. This museum has many items depicting the rural life of Mykonos
before Jackie O.
Churches
Mykonos has over 250 churches and some have been famously photographed
over the years. Don't miss the asymetrical 18th century church of
Panagia Paraportiani or the Conventof the Panagia with its beautiful
18th Century icons or the Monastery of Panagia Tourliani who is the
Patron Saint of the island.
Throughout Greece, every island and place has its share of festivals. A religious ceremony is held in the local church followed by eating, drinking, dancing and fireworks until dawn.

Feast of the Panagia 15th August
Celebrated all over Greece, this ceremony is in honour of the Virgin
Mary. On Mykonos it is particularly celebrated at the Monastery of
Panagia Tourliani.
Summer Festival
During the summer months, an arts festival is held on Mykonos and
artists from all over the world are invited to perform.

Bars, nightclubs and beaches are what has put Mykonos on the map. However, there are local delicacies to try including a local spicy sausage, 'tyrovoulia' cheese, onion pie, excellent seafood, 'siglinia' which is cured pork, 'Iouzes' which is seasoned and dried pork meat, 'kopanisti' cheese and 'amigdalota' which is a sweet made from almonds.
