Perfect for a couple wanting to holiday on the wonderful Greek island of Hydra, this stone house is located in the quiet surroundings of Kamini and is one of the prettiest little houses in our collection.

Aloe-Vera is a stone property situated above the charming fishing village of Kamini, only 5 mins walk from the nearest cove for swimming. The house is very private and peaceful with serene views over the village of Kamini and the hills of Hydra beyond. The house is in an excellent position to explore some of the best walks on the island and to sample the village life, which is the unique flavour that Hydra offers. One recommended walk is to the bay of Vlichos.

The entrance to the property leads to a very spacious and secluded courtyard garden planted with unusual cacti plants and with dining and seating areas that have been carved out of the surrounding rock.

From the courtyard, the entrance leads into a charming cottage kitchen with dining area carved out of the rock. A flight of stairs leads to the upper level which consists of a living room and a double bedroom with air conditioning. Ceiling fans are also present. The living room is incredibly charming, colourful and brightly decorated. The ceiling is vaulted and constructed in a traditional way exposing the wooden beams. An external stone staircase leads from the bedroom to a very pretty patio below. There is a WC/shower room inside and a second smaller WC/shower which is situated under one of the stone arches downstairs in the courtyard. An external shower is also located under the outside steps of the main entrance which is useful after returning from the sea.

This is a well equipped property with TV, DVD, radio and CD and comfortably furnished throughout.

Kamini is a lovely village where it seems as if time has stood still with its little main square with stone houses clad in age-old vines and with its own small harbour lined with brightly painted fishing boats. Despite the quietness of surroundings, Kamini boasts three excellent tavernas with stunning views of the harbour and bay as well one of the best beach bar-restaurants on the island. The village is only about 10 - 15 mins walk from the main harbour and town of Hydra along the old battlements which are fringed with pine trees.  Guests need to be aware that Hydra has many steps so an average level of fitness and mobility is required.

Maid service, 2 - 3 times a week is included in the price along with a plentiful supply of coffee, milk, butter and jams.
