Kea is an exceptionally picturesque island with mountains that plunge into the sea, small valleys planted with vines and fruit trees, majestic oak forests and valleys opening out into pretty little bays with breathtaking sandy beaches. The main town of the island, known as ‘Chora’, is built in the shape of an amphitheatre and presents an impressive vista of two-and three-storey houses and tiled roofs, steep cobbled streets and splendid churches with breathtaking views of the nearby islands.

Villa Aristaios is an outstanding example of one of Chora’s historical houses and has been renovated with the utmost care and dedication. Laid out on three levels, the property has retained many of its original features with spacious and elegant rooms, typical Cycladic style antique divans which are carved into the stonework of the building, tiled floors that are cool to the touch and the most lovely verandah on the very top of the house affording a magnificent view of Chora and the glistening bay below.

The first level of the house has an elegant living room with traditional built in divans. There is a kitchen with small dining area and a bathroom with shower. A flight of stone steps lead up to the upper verandah which is a wonderful spot to enjoy al fresco dining whilst taking in the view. On the middle level of the house is a magnificent master bedroom suite with romantic balcony. On the third level is a second large living room with antique divans that were used traditionally as sofas during the day and beds by night. On this level, is the formal dining area and principal kitchen. There is also a guest WC on this level.
