Villa Ourania has been designed in an elegant, traditional style. It is located in a rural setting above the villages of Vasiliki and Porto Katsiki on the Greek island of Lefkas. Villa Ourania is located in one of the most beautiful areas of southern Lefkada above Porto Katsiki. This large stone residence sits high on a hill with magnificent views over the Ionian Sea. Surrounded completely by nature and set within 8 acres of grounds, this is an ideal spot to experience utter peace and relaxation away from any other properties.

Villa Ourania has been built to traditional designs with an ecological ethos, and using natural materials and local stone. The villa is on two levels connected by an indoor wooden staircase but each level also has its own independent access through the courtyard. All the rooms are surrounded by large stone verandas and all have a view to the sea and the islands of Ithaka and Kefalonia.

Villa Ourania has four bedrooms, two large living rooms, two kitchens and two bathrooms. On the upper level is the main living room with a fireplace, lounge and dining area for 8. In the living room there is a telephone, TV, DVD and CD players. French Windows lead out onto the terrace with its spectacular view. There is a separate farmhouse style kitchen with elegant fittings and fixtures including a traditional style range, fridge, oven, dishwasher and laundry machine. Doors lead out onto a kitchen patio. Further along the corridor is a bathroom with bath and shower. Towards the rear of the house is a very pretty double bedroom with a window and French Windows looking out onto the veranda shaded by an age-old olive tree. To the front of the house on this level, there is a 2nd double bedroom with access to a huge veranda running the length of the house. All bedrooms throughout the house are fully equipped, and the double beds have mattresses made of natural metal-free materials.

A wooden staircase leads down to the lower level which is completely self-contained space with its own kitchen, dining and living area.  There is a 2nd master bedroom on this level with en-suite bathroom with jacuzzi bath and shower.  In addition, there is an extra double bed with en-suite shower room.  French Windows lead out onto the spacious terrace.

The main courtyard of the house is an ideal spot for relaxation and is surrounded by a natural landscape where the indigenous plants and trees of the region have been preserved. Sage and thyme grow among the olive trees and cypresses, all protected by stone walls that enclose the terraces. There is also a garden with vines, fig trees and small fruit trees. From the courtyard of the house one can enjoy the splendid colours of sunrise and sunset, the evening star-studded sky, as well as the reflection of the moon in the waters beneath the terrace.

The private swimming pool sits on its own terrace surrounded by a spacious teak lounge area with deck chairs and umbrellas.

The excellent microclimatic conditions of the region, the summer breeze and the local winds, in combination with the orientation of the house and the arrangement of the exterior openings ensure natural cooling even during hot summer days and render air conditioning unnecessary.

The property is close to two of Greece’s most spectacular beaches, Egremnoi and Porto Katsiki. The villa also lies within a short driving distance of the bay of Vasiliki, famous for its windsurfing and sailing.
