Villa Arietta with its versatile layout is perfect for either one large family, or two families, or two or three couples wanting their own privacy.

The property has been built in a traditional way making use of the beautiful stone of Tinos island. The shutters and pergolas which surround the house are dove grey and give a striking contrast to the colours of the stone. Located in a wild setting, with wonderful views over the Aegean sea, Villa Arietta blends traditional architecture with a simplicity in decor. The result is a clean, modern and incredibly attractive property, surrounded by heady scents of indigenous herbs and stone walls.

The entrance to the house leads to a split level, central living space. The lower level plays host to the living room area which has a fireplace and two comfortable, traditional sofas which work well in contrast to two modern and very comfortable chairs. French doors lead to a terrace with modern furniture under one of the grey pergolas. The views are sensational. A couple of steps lead to the upper level where a pretty dining area is presented in front of the kitchen, which is very well equipped. The house features stunning limestone floors and solid stone work-tops in the kitchen.

From the kitchen area, a hall way leads to two double bedrooms, each with doors that lead outside. The master bedroom has an en-suite bathroom, and the guest double bedroom has its own separate bathroom.

The lower level is built into the surrounding rock and is connected internally to the upper level by a staircase, but also has its own independent access from outside. On this level, there is a large ‘family’ bedroom which can sleep up to 4 guests. It has a proper double bed and a second double sleeping area which is made in a traditional way. This large room also has a charming living area and direct access to the lower terrace which is surrounded by plants and shrubs. On the lower level of the house is a second full sized bathroom. To the back of this space is a small single bedroom with WC (no shower) that can also be used by guests.

Inside, the property has been painted in subtle shades and the walls have a textural finish which softens the curves and arches of the interior. The soft furnishings are pale pink and blue with the odd flash of green and red. The result is incredibly calming and it is obvious that the owner has exceptional taste. The property is naturally cooled due to the 'gdoudo' technique used in traditional stone houses where the lower level is detached from the surrounding rocks by an external corridor of about 1 metre that keeps cool air circulating.

Outside, the garden brings unity to the property joining the levels of the house with steps and terraces which have been planted out with shrubs and flowers. There is a outside dining area which has been built under a pergola and surrounded by stone walls which gives the space an intimate feel and would be a fabulous place to spend the evening dining and chatting, discussing with friends.

The property is a short drive to the nearest sandy beach and is about a 10 min drive to the very picturesque main town of the island known as 'Chora'. There is one taverna within walking distance of the villa which dates back to the 1600's and offers excellent local dishes.

It would suit those interested in exploring a more authentic 'off the beaten track' location with easy access to some fabulous sandy beaches.
