Sappho

Located on the shores of the Ionian Sea and set within a natural Mediterranean landscape, Villa Sappho is a delightful property accommodating 6 guests. The owner has made a wonderful success out of blending an artistic, colourful and stylish theme whilst offering something practical and homely.

The entrance door painted in traditional Greek blue leads into a large open plan kitchen/living room/dining space. The walls are white-washed with a vaulted ceiling and splashes of colour from the furniture and artwork give a delightful atmosphere. A bright red sofa and old style leather couch provide comfortable seating as light pours in from the French doors and bay windows which look over the pool terrace and the Ionian Sea beyond.

There is a dining table and seating for six, and modern kitchen with white cupboard doors contrasting with the colourful ceramic tiles.

There are three bedrooms and two bathroom - one double bedroom with ensuite bathroom, and one double room and one twin room which share a bathroom. Both bathrooms are very stylish and fitted with high quality fixtures. The beds are very comfortable and the decor with its bright colours of green, red and blue make each bedroom cheery and fun. One of the double bedrooms and the twin room have large French doors leading directly onto the swimming pool terrace.

The pool terrace continues the colourful theme with bright orange, low slung chairs offering comfortable seating for those backgammon moments or simply sipping away on an ouzo or cocktail whilst taking in the lovely sea view.

The swimming pool is 5 x 4 meters and since the sea is so close, the pool is perfect for cooling off whilst relaxing at the property. A polished cement finish forms the surrounding area of the pool which gives the outsde space a very clean and modern appearance.

A large pergola gives shade to the outside of the property and blue coloured shutters have been hung from the pergola supports offering a reference to the past as well as a nice contemporary designer detail. There is an outside dining table for 8 and railings to give security if the group has exploring ‘little ones’ within its ranks. Sunloungers in bright blue complete the setting.

A path meanders through the property towards the sea where there are steps into the water making it easy to enter and exit.

Villa Sappho is located in the south of the island. Ammousa beach with its crystal clear waters and beach bar facilities is close by. Vasiliki with all its water sports facilities is a close drive away as is the charming fishing village of Sivota. It is a great part of the island to be located for exploring easily some of the best of what Lefkada has to offer.
