Panoramic sea views in hidden part of Greece!

View Gallery

Villa Diodentra takes its name from two magnificent age-old cypress trees that mark the entrance to the villa. From its lofty hillside position, the property enjoys panoramic sea views right across the Gulf to the mountains of Central Greece beyond.

The villa is very spacious and on three levels. From the driveway, a stone stairway leads up from the garden to the central level of the property. Here there is a stunning open-plan living space with floor to ceiling glass doors to take in the immensity of the sea view. Comfortable sofas and armchairs surround the fireplace, and an 'Observatory' area with leather reclining chairs and telescope is to the right of this. There is an elegant dining area for 10 guests and a well equipped kitchen. From the glass doors, guests can enjoy the really spacious verandah that runs the length of the property.

On the verandah is an outdoor dining table for 10-12 as well as free-standing barbecue. From the kitchen, a door leads down some steps to the pool area and main barbecue with 2nd outdoor dining area.

On the central even there is also a twin bedroom with French windows leading to a quiet patio. Next to this room is a bathroom with shower and WC. This bathroom can be accessed either from the hallway or directly from the bedroom.

Upstairs there are three bedrooms: The master bedroom with en-suite bathroom with shower and WC and private verandah with wonderful sea views; and a twin bedroom and a double bedroom which share a bathroom with shower and WC. These two bedrooms also have access to a large verandah which looks straight out over the sea.

On the lowest level of the house at garden level is a tastefully decorated lounge-bar with comfortable futons and TV area. There is a futon that converts into a double bed and also a bathroom with shower and WC on this level. Doors from this lounge area lead directly out to the pool terrace. Your gaze is instantly drawn to the seemingly endless sea views before you. There are plenty of sun loungers, umbrellas and a great barbecue/outdoor dining area.

The local village is situated below the villa (2 mins by car or a 10 min walk - though it is uphill on the way back). It is a traditional village lively in the summer months with Athenian families who holiday here. There is a very pretty village square with a cafe as well as two tavernas and a bar that is set within a leafy garden. The nearest beaches are about a 5-10 min drive away including the excellent Corral Beach Bar-Restaurant with its Ibiza style atmosphere and beautiful setting. There are plenty of shops in the local town a 10 min drive away as well as many tavernas and cafes. Within a day's trip are many interesting historical and archaelogical sites including Ancient Corinth, Mycenae, the Venetian towns of Nafplion and Nafpaktos as well as the ancient site of Delphi and the Neo-Classical town of Galaxidi by the sea. For guests who enjoy walking, hiking and cycling it is a perfect spot to enjoy the surrounding nature of mountains, gorges, rivers and lakes and the many traditional stone villages found within these areas.

Villa Diodentra is an excellent property from which to enjoy many aspects that Greece has to offer within a traditional setting.

James B. arrived 16th July 2011

Thanks for a wonderful holiday;- we had a great time.
The villa really is in a beautiful spot, is very well furnished and equipped (although no microwave, which wasn't t an issue just meant we had to cook some things properly!)
Yours and the owners guide / notes were very useful, and the Beach guide was spot on.
Our pick of the local restaurants were Trifona in the upper village who really seemed to go the extra mile to make us welcome despite a bit of a language barrier (although this is the one you ve supplied English on the menus which was a big help) and Folia by the sea.
Was very glad we made the effort to go to Delphi via the bridge there are a couple of lovely little fishing villages to the west of Galaxidi where we stopped off for drinks on the way and a late lunch on the way back. We went to Nafplion on the same day and that was definitely worthwhile.

Thanks again

Leora R. arrived 16th Aug 2009

Our vacation was way beyond our expectations, both the Villa and the other services where amazing and allowed us the dreamy vacation we wished for. We are sending the link to your site for all our friends, and we hope to come back again next year.

Thank you so much.
