Jacaranda House

Peloponnese

Pretty stone house set within a traditional village with private pool and boat available

View Gallery

Beautifully restored stone house with private pool, colourful garden and in a quiet position just steps away from the heart of the village and 5 mins drive from the sea

Jacaranda House is a wonderful property full of character that is situated in a traditional Peloponnese village that has spectacular views across the Gulf of Corinth. This old, stone house, surrounded by a mature walled garden with private swimming pool, has been sensitively restored by its owners retaining many traditional features such as stone arches, fireplaces, wood burning stoves, thick stone walls, vaulted wooden ceilings and spacious rooms.

A large double wooden gate leads through the thick stone wall surrounding the property into the garden. The stone pathway meanders down through the flower beds planted with lavender, majoram, rosemary and a profusion of cloudy-blue plumbago and heavy-scented jasmine to the main entrance.

The house is on two levels. On the ground floor level, there is a farmhouse style kitchen with dining area and comfortable living area with sofa and armchairs around a wood burning stove. This is a great space for serious cooks with a very well-equipped kitchen that includes a large new American style fridge-freezer which includes dispenser for ice cubes, crushed ice and constant cold mineral water. Down the corridor is a guest double bedroom with windows overlooking the garden. Next to the kitchen is a hallway with entrance to the main bathroom featuring Italian tiles and the original stone walls with full-size bath and shower.

Moving through the hallway on this level are two further bedrooms: The first is a spacious bedroom with twin beds which also has doors leading directly into the garden. Next to the twin bedroom is the master bedroom with a new, luxurious 'Coco-Mat' bed, large corner fireplace, en-suite bathroom and doors leading to the garden. These two bedrooms can either be accessed independently from the garden, or are well designed for families with small children since there is also an inter-connecting door through a thick stone arch between the rooms. All bedrooms have new air-conditioning units.

From the kitchen/living area a spiral staircase leads to the upper level. The upper level is one very large living room with vaulted ceiling that also has a double bed for extra guests. Two sets of doors open onto a very spacious veranda with sea and mountain views. The veranda has a large outdoor dining table for 8 people as well as various armchairs, comfortable outdoor sofa and day bed with plenty of pillows. An external staircase leads from this veranda and level down to the garden which is planted with many flowers, herbs, climbers, shrubs and trees including a magnificent purple-flowering jacaranda tree. The focal point of the garden is the swimming pool nestling amongst the flowers. It has a 9 metre swimming length and a large rounded area with steps across the width of the pool which is excellent for cooling off or for children to play. The swimming pool terrace is also partially railed so avoiding difficult drops.

In the garden there are two additional terraces - the sun bathing terrace above the swimming pool with its teak loungers, and the coffee terrace with its elegant table and chairs punctuated by a pink-plumed silk tree and four mature yucca trees. A large barbecue is situated conveniently close to the main kitchen door.

The villa has ADSL wireless internet, air-conditioning in the bedrooms, Hunter fans, DVD, TV, i-pod outlet, dish washer, washing machine, piano and an excellent library of books and CDs.

New for the 2023 season is a speedboat with skipper that guests can hire for fishing trips, snorkelling, and exploring both the local bays as well as the beautiful island of Trizonia opposite and the Neo-Classical town of Galaxidi with Ancient Delphi above. Equipment for fishing, snorkelling and waterskiing is provided as well as a 'doughnut' for kids. For information please see link below:

The village itself is 200 metres above sea level and the local beach is a few minutes by car. The village has two good tavernas, a cafe in the main square which also serves food in the evenings and a bar set in a leafy garden overlooking the sea. The local greengrocer and fishmonger visit the village twice a week. Otherwise, all amenities can be found in the neighbouring town about 7 kms distance. Kalavryta Ski Centre is about 40 mins from the house along a spectacular road that cuts straight through a gorge. The archaeological sites of Delphi, Corinth, Mycenae and Epidavros can be visited as day trips and there are many surrounding towns and villages of interest to visit.

Jacaranda House with its different areas for relaxing is a perfect choice for families or a group of friends wanting to 'chill out' in comfortable surroundings in one of the more authentic parts of Greece.

Hi Marie-Louise just wanted to say thanks for everything. We have had a fantastic stay at Jacaranda house and hope to come back some time. It is truly beautiful. Thank you for all your help and for the various recommendations - we stuck to your suggestions (including Lambros twice) and every meal has been amazing!! Thank you

Suzanne T. arrived 15th July 2023
We had a lovely stay at Jacaranda villa and the people and service from Pretty Greek Villas were outstanding. The only thing in the house is that it needs more lighting if at all possible. This is a minor point, the villa was so well equipped it was amazing.

Jo S. arrived 8th July 2023
Simply the best holiday company we have ever used. Nothing too much trouble…wonderful communication from start to finish and our villa was simply sublime.
We were delayed leaving Birmingham and so missed our connection to Athens at Frankfurt. A phone call to Marie Louise was so reassuring and made the whole delay so much less stressful. We should have arrived at around 1700hrs but due to a further delay at Frankfurt and a tired driver (!) we rocked up at 2am… to be greeted by a smiling and incredibly helpful George… who showed us what we needed to know… gave us his number in case of any issues and had been out and purchased supper for us from a local Taverna (delicious Moussaka) in case we were hungry after such a long trip… simply amazing!!
Nothing could have prepared us for the enchanting view of the stunning garden/pool area as we stepped thru the gate into the walled garden for the first time… unforgettable. The house was a delight.. spacious, traditional and beautifully furnished .. you can tell the owner loves this house and we felt privileged to be able to stay here.
Marie Louise & George were constantly available via WhatsApp for queries..& very knowledgeable about the area. A later checkout was accommodated with no issues at all.
Customer service does not seem to be a priority for many companies these days… Pretty Greek Villas absolutely buck that trend. You will feel like you are holidaying at a friends house.. it feels as though they really care about your experience and I cannot rate them highly enough.
Thankyou PGV for an incredibly special week of family time in a stunning location. We felt supported by you and have no hesitation in recommending you and your wonderful service. There are not enough superlatives to describe how fabulous you are!!! We will definitely be back.

We very much enjoyed our stay thank you, it's a wonderful spot, we didn't really want to go anywhere once we got to the villa. It was so peaceful and the kids loved the pool. It really is a special place with the views and sunset and the beautiful garden.

Everyone we have dealt with along the way from PGV has been great, so helpful and accommodating. We are already looking at your website for out next holiday!

Mary R. arrived 3rd September 2022

Firstly thank you for helping to facilitate a wonderful holiday.  We had a very relaxing time at Jacaranda House. A delight to be in such an authentic part of Greece. We didn’t hear another British voice which was a pleasure.

Helen G. arrived 9th July 2022

We had a wonderful stay at Jacaranda Villa and a perfect holiday. We really appreciated all your reassurance and support with arrival details, car hire and easy access to help while we were there. The villa was great for us - plenty of space, lots of cool places and all the facilities we needed and very well stocked cupboards and essentials on arrival. The pool was lovely. We ate out in the village and at several of the other places you recommended but also cooked at home a few nights which was lovely on the veranda. Dino's bar was delightful. We saw Holy Monastery of Daphni and Corinth Canal on the way from Athens which were both very much worth it and great day trips to Kalavryta (the museum is amazing), the cave lakes, Naplio and Epidaurus and lots of time lolling about and reading which was much needed. We loved the local beaches - best was parking above the Ram's Head and scrambling down with beach chairs and umbrella to the beach below for snorkelling. We didn't see another British tourist all week which was great - it felt very authentic Greek area. A great holiday!

Robin S. arrived 21st May 2022

We loved both our weeks! PGV support superb throughout, very start of booking to final moments - thank you. Jacaranda - Beautiful private lush 'compound'. Lovely pool. Huge outdoor area in shade - amazing. Piano. Welcome hamper. Loved the village and things to do eg Kalavryta. A magical holiday once again. Thanks Marie Louise and Vickie for all your patient advice! I recommend you to everyone and will certainly be using you again.

Katherine M. arrived 4th Aug 2019

We were hot and tired after 3 nights in Athens and in need of some rest and relaxation after our 2 hour drive and for 7 days, that is exactly what we got. The villa is beautiful with an abundance of terraces from which to follow the sun. Decor is very rustic with stone floors and walls and lots of wood. Lighting is low but this was not a problem. The ceiling fans are quite adequate and after the aircon in Athens being either too cold or too warm, the gentle continuous breeze was appreciated. The sun disappeared from the terraces at around 4pm so we drove to the beach for the Late afternoon which was lovely. The notes in the house listed some beaches and we found a few very pretty ones with crystal water, but don't forget your water shoes as the beaches are pebbly. There were beach chairs and an umbrella in the house which we made use of. The showers in the house were good and powerful and there was plenty of room for us all to relax. The unusually shaped pool makes the most of the space and is beautiful and framed by exotic flowers and plants. The upstairs lounge is particularly comfortable and we watched a few things on Netflix. The local taverna closest to the house (2 minutes walk) was the best, in fact the only one we went to. No one spoke English and we had no Greek but they were so friendly and we managed to communicate and they sent free carafes of wine and yoghurt and fruit at the end of the meal. There is a huge BBQ grill and we had fabulous meats, fresh beautiful salads and great chips cooked in olive oil. We ate in the villa a couple of times, just pizza and pasta, although there is a fantastic looking BBQ. We would usually BBQ but this time couldn't be bothered as the restaurant was just fabulous and for around 45 for four people was excellent. In Athens we sometimes paid twice as much, although we did have some lovely food and I would expect a price difference between a capital city and a hilltop village. We heard only one English voice the whole time we were at the villa. This is not a holiday resort but a place where real Greek people live. The beaches have some nice restaurants and I think some Greek people were on holiday there. Young and old were enjoying the sea, it was fabulous. Parking is not a problem in this part of a Greece, we parked right next to the beach each time. We only needed the car to get to the villa and back to the airport for trips to the beach and the supermarket. There are a few other tavernas in the village and a bar but we were happy just relaxing in the villa and walking to our favourite taverna. We usually holiday with other families in villas around Europe and this was the first time in many years we'd been on holiday just with our children, one at university, the other about to start, so this time was precious and we found the perfect place to spend it. Sotirios met us in the village car park, a few steps from the villa and drove us to the door in his jeep, which was very welcome. He was on hand to help out whenever we needed it and we would usually bump into him in the taverna at night - thank you for the carafe of rose Sotirios! We feel we experienced the real Greece and would recommend the villa and the company PGV to anyone wanting the same. PGV were great communicators from the start and arranged the hire car to meet us at the Athens hotel at a better rate than I could find. If you drive from Athens do stop and look at the Corinthian canal. We had planned to stop in ancient Corinth but the weather was just too hot and we'd seen some fabulous sites in Athens already we just wanted to be to the pool. If you are thinking of this villa, don't hesitate, it's the real thing. Many thanks, we had a fabulous holiday!

Alison F. arrived 21th Oct 2018

The villa was lovely, and the services of Pretty Greek Villas has been outstanding. I much appreciated the availability of local support and the information provided to us about the villa and surrounding areas. The weather at the beginning of the week wasn't great but that s not within your control of course :-)

Sarah H. arrived 6th Oct 2018

We had a fantastic time at jacaranda villa. It was very relaxing and we loved it ,didn't want to leave. Lol. If we could be really picky ,if the pool was heated ,as it was October, it would have been the icing on the cake!. However we did manage to swim in it twice and our son a few more. Lol. It is a beautiful part of Greece, that people don't seem to know about as much as the islands. Driving was fine ,once you figured out how to drive the Greek way. Lol. The Acropolis is a must see and the other sites around there but our favourite was Delphi ,absolutely stunning and the drive to it. Olympia looked amazing too but it was closed due to a strike ,but we managed to view a lot through the fences. The drive back on mountain roads was interesting ,but amazing scenery. Also Corinth, was another fascinating site. We also did the train ride from Diakopto(a delicious bakery here,) and the one in Akrata. Great food in the Tavernas and the beaches (trapeza our favourite ) ,water so clear ,we swam a few times in the sea. Yiannis, was very helpful when we had s small problem with electric and washing machine but sorted out very quickly. A microwave might be a helpful addition too. All the information that was given to us was great and helped a lot. So thank you very much for a fantastic holiday, we lived it and have lots of amazing family memories.

Richard T. arrived 25th Aug 2018

We had a great time and Yiannis and the lady were excellent.  Our only gripe was that reading in bed was difficult as the lighting in the twin bedroom was so low and no electric sockets behind the beds.

Lindsay E. arrived 5th August 2018

We loved our stop at Jacaranda house, just brilliant!

Gillian K. arrived 28th July 2018

Wow, we had such a great time at Jacaranda House. The villa was exactly like the pictures. It was clean, spacious and comfortable. We especially loved the pool area and the veranda with the amazing view. We had a very comfortable, relaxing and safe stay at the villa.

Camilla A. arrived 20th June 2018

We had a lovely stay at the villa which was in a great location and had all that we needed for a relaxing and interesting holiday.

Janet T. arrived 3th Sept 2017

We had a lovely time at Jacaranda thank you. The villa was very pretty, and as before the people who look after it were really helpful and efficient. I shall certainly recommend you and look at you again when we next plan to come to Greece.

Bree B. arrived 27th August 2017

Beautiful gardens and pool, Yiannis was incredibly friendly and provided a fantastic welcome pack of fresh fruit, wine, bread, cheese, the local grill restaurant was amazing.

Dina P. arrived 13th Aug 2017

The villa was lovely and we all enjoyed our stay. Beautiful home and perfectly decorated. Fenced pool is great for kids. View from the villa was superb. The housekeeper and grounds man are wonderful !! Great booking system and friendly bookings team. Would definitely book with you again :)

Pat G. arrived 15th July 2017

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Jacaranda House. We were very comfortable and loved everything.  Yiannis looked after us well as did the charming waiters at the Corral Beach bar and we generally enjoyed dining out at the restaurants round and about. We would definitely love to book another pretty greek villa through you.

Jane H. arrived 27th May 2017

We had a brilliant time at Jacaranda House. We felt completely at home, loved the decor, all the books(heaven) and made full use of the Scrabble! Our family and friends loved it too. As you might imagine there was considerable competition for the pole position on the mattress on the terrace in the late afternoons! We have returned to our home in the West Country where sadly it feels distinctly wintry, and also very wet!We have only positive things to say about our holiday. The villa was all we had hoped, well equipped and very comfortable. It was very helpful to find all the basics there and also to find that fresh fruit and goods had been left for us on our arrival, all much appreciated. Yannis was very helpful and came regularly to maintain the pool and check all was well. It was a bonus to find that Yanna was coming twice a week to keep everything shipshape too. Thank you. We would certainly use PGV again, and will happily recommend them too.

Andrei G. arrived 27th June 2016

Thank you so much, we loved it. We shall be back!

Lindsay H. arrived 3th Sept 2016

Thanks for everything - all the tips and info have been invaluable. We really enjoyed our time at Jacaranda House. Have loved the pool. Ate at the Macedonian restaurant ‘Eprepe’ twice; ate at both the locals, went into the hills/mountains; went to Poros island, etc etc - we’ve done heaps and enjoyed it all. Have loved the food. Barbecue gas finished - in the name of good food. Have noticed the weather cooling - good time to head home. Enjoy your winter months.

Mark F. arrived 23th July 2016

We had a lovely holiday.

Sarah H. arrived 9th July 2016

We had an absolutely fabulous time! Ben was a super host and we did a lot of things that we might not have done without his assistance. Also thank you for your Greek translations while we were out riding..... The house is lovely without being too personal and we had everything we needed. It was all over too quickly.

Barry P. arrived 11th June 2016

We had a wonderful two weeks at Jacaranda House. Everything was great and we really appreciated the generous Welcome Pack.

Rodrigo A. arrived 19th Aug 2015

Just to let you know that the incident with the rocks didn't spoil our holiday. The overall stay was fantastic & we loved the villa as well as the whole area. The whole holiday was wonderful & I would recommend PGV to others.

Perry I. arrived 6th Aug 2016

We had a wonderful holiday in Villa Jacaranda and were sorry we didn't see Ben on Friday to say goodbye. We loved the villa which was just like a home from home and had everything we needed and more. We would have no hesitation in recommending Pretty Greek Villas to our friends and family.

Charlotte B. arrived 19th July 2015

We enjoyed our stay and were particularly glad of all the information provided about where to eat and which beaches to go etc. That was invaluable.

We had a great holiday!

Judy W. arrived 27th Sept 2014

In terms of the villa, we thought it was lovely.

Martha P. arrived 1st Sept 2014

We had a great time at Jacaranda House.  Such a beautiful house! The welcome basket and assorted supplies were great - and the stunning heart shaped cake was such a nice touch! Thanks for organising it.

Oliver B. arrived 16th Aug 2014

We loved our stay - the house was terrific and we thoroughly enjoyed the Cave Lakes and the lake in the mountains at Tsivlos, we also drove to Corinth which was great. It was an amazing area in the mountains to stay and we had fantastic food at the nearest of the tavernas and also at the Taverna on the edge of the lake.

Sarah C. arrived 26th July 2014

Just wanted to say thank you, again, for our wonderful stay here - it's honestly been magical. We drove up to Tsivlos yesterday and swam in the lake - one of the most beautiful places I've ever been. We ate lunch afterwards at the taverna you mentioned in the blue folder, and the food was amazing!

Dawn D. arrived 1st July 2014

Firstly just to say thank you so much for all your advice and organisation- girls and I are delighted with Jacaranda House, only problem being the thought of leaving next week. We have been out exploring every day so far and hope to head to Coral Beach tomorrow. Views are stunning and water so beautiful for swimming- we have loved everything so far!!

Sara B. arrived 13th June 2014

We have had an absolutely lovely stay and are both very chilled! House is lovely and perfect for what we wanted. Never did manage to find Coral though! Had some very nice food along the front in Akrata and went back a couple of times. Having lunch there today before the drive back to the airport! Really wish we were staying longer and will certainly be using Pretty Greek Villas in the future. Your service has been excellent and everyone we have spoken to has been very friendly and helpful, nothing too much trouble. Been good to know there is someone on hand anytime. However we managed well enough and have had a really good holiday. Many thanks to you and your staff at Pretty Greek Villas!!

Richard B. arrived 5th June 2014

We had the most wonderful time in Jacaranda House. It couldnt have been more perfect and everyone was so kind. We would also like to thank you all for the delicious cake that was awaiting us on our arrival.

Jennifer B. arrived 23th May 2014

We had a lovely stay at Jacaranda House. It was great to have so many pleasing places to sit and for it to be so well equipped. I even bought a piano book from home to learn a new piece!

Sally P. arrived 16th May 2014

We had a great time and the Villa was lovely.

Hannah W. arrived 18th Aug 2013

We are just settling back into our normal schedules in Chicago this week, the jet lag is almost gone, but our fun memories of a truly special holiday are still with us! Thanks for all your help in making sure mums birthday trip was one to cherish and remember. We loved villa jacaranda and all the authentic Greek experiences we had during our time there! It was everything we had hoped for, and allowed us to spend quality time as a family which is so relatively rare these days because of our geography!

Sabine C. arrived 11th Aug 2013

We had a wonderful stay in Jacaranda House! The house was very characterful, we loved the village location and it was great discovering this lesser known area of the Peloponnese. We will definitely come back to Greece and look forward to exploring your other villas.

Adria S. arrived 20th July 2013

We had a lovely time in Platanos. The house was well equipped although we couldnt get the TV to work but for us, that was no loss. Otherwise we had a wonderful time in what is a comfortable house. Thanks to Ben for the warm welcome - the few things left for us were most appreciated. We will certainly include Pretty Greek Villas in our plans again next time we travel to Greece.

Sarah W. arrived 29th Sept 2012

Many thanks. We had a really lovely time at Jacaranda and particularly enjoyed the general style and feel of the place, the privacy (although this may be less so in the summer with neighbours around) and the really high quality of the reading materials in the house which was an absolute joy. If we had realised the owners were such an erudite couple we would have come without any books at all as we wanted to read pretty much everything they had. The service from Pretty Greek Villas was very good with full, detailed descriptions of all properties and efficient answering of all emails as well as good directions. The people who looked after the property were all very charming and friendly and we really enjoyed the area and the village.

Dear Vickie and all the staff at Pretty Greek Villas, Our stay at Jacaranda House was delightful. The accommodations were lovely, the setting could not be more beautiful - even the weather was perfect! It was a wonderful stay, certainly enhanced by the experience we had at the villa. Thank you for providing such comfortable and attractive quarters,

I just wanted to write and say thank you - we had a wonderful time at Jacaranda House and were very sorry to leave last Thursday. The house was absolutely perfect for our needs and the situation just wonderful. We particularly loved not meeting another Brit for the duration of our stay, even though we were out and about a lot. Thanks to your recommendations we had some great meals, although we were turfed out of the Veranda by a rather rude waiter (the son, I think!). We tried to go to Mourayo in Aiyera but found it closed, but did enjoy the pizza place in Akrata very much. However, our favourite place was Trifona in the village - we were made to feel so welcome and I think this was the highlight of our stay. Our daughter was kept well entertained by the very friendly staff and locals while we enjoyed the views and food. We also had really lovely days out at Trapeza on the beach and Kalavryta where we went on the train. And absolutely loved the baker and greengrocer in Akrata - both run by the friendliest of people. Thanks again for all your help in making a very memorable holiday.

We had a fantastic time in your villa, and we would definitely hope to return. We enjoyed the area immensely, and we especially appreciated the thoughtful and detailed information about restaurants, bars and sightseeing that you provided. We followed your suggestions closely, and on the odd occasion we didn't, we wished we had! It really did feel as if we had "inside information" about the best places to go, so thank you for the time and effort you put into compiling the information, it made our holiday so much easier and more enjoyable. We also loved the house itself, and enjoyed Maria's wonderful pastitsio, which was delicious! Our daughter burst into tears when we had to depart, as she did not want to go. I know how she felt! Many thanks, and thank you again for a great holiday.

Daniel G. arrived 11th Aug 2012

We had a great week thank you - it's a brilliant service you offer and you'll be first on our list if we go abroad again next year. The villa was so well kitted out and Aristos really helpful - we made a good team on the BBQ... Apart from the rain, the food, the beaches and the tent it was just like being back at Jacaranda. Have a successful year and maybe we'll 'meet' again

Feed back about our 11 day holiday to Jacaranda House. A wonderful, hidden away gem with great facilities. We thought it was surprisingly spacious! The pool was fantastic. The pool and outside balcony (with the day bed) being the most used areas of our stay. Aristos and Maria were brilliant and they both did a great job; the villa, gardens and pool were spotless. Even though we didn't speak any Greek (other than hello and thank you) we got by and when we found we were struggling to be understood, we used apps on our phones to translate or find pictures to assist when ordering in tavernas/restaurants. It really was an authentic Greek holiday. A great place to rest and relax, all tavernas in the village were within walking distance and were wonderfully welcoming - with lovely food. Only the old lady in the opposite villa was interesting, as she clearly was struggling for money. We only saw one english person for our entire 11 day trip! So we felt as though we had truly visited somewhere different. The directions were very good, including the ones to the doctors which we had to use. Mountains, caves, snorkelling at Rams Head/Planantos and ruins at Ancient Olympia were all stunning. All queries and contact from Marie-Louise and Ben were prompt, efficient, answered fully. Pretty Greek Villas were very good with communication. I was nervous about booking without the company being registered with ATOL or ABTA or using paypal however, I need not have been. All in all a wonderfully relaxing and impressive place to stay - authentic luxury Greek holiday in the heart of a village away from all the normal British tourist areas. I would highly recommend Pretty Greek Villas.

Wendy S. arrived 23th June 2012

May we take this opportunity to thank you for a very nice and relaxing time at your house. It's exactly what we needed. Our daughter left for university last year and just spending time with her has been amazing. If you ever want to come to England we have a narrow boat We could swap a week !

Helen T. arrived 21th Aug 2011

The second villa (Jacaranda) was also superb. It was hard to get used to being in a townhouse after the space at Tamarisk but when we did I'd say the children preferred it (the motorway noise didn't bother them). The layout with different terraces gave them masses of play options and they loved swimming in the lit-up pool at night. And the accommodation was top quality in terms of comfortable places to be - much better for 6 people. Leaving provisions for us was also a lovely and much appreciated touch. Thank you! Everything worked really well. We were delighted!

Mark and Sarah T. arrived 31th July 2011

We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Jacaranda and have loved the house, the village and all the surrounding areas ñ with thanks for your very informative, and now well thumbed guide. I think we very quickly took for granted the things that made it perfect for us ñ the almost deserted beaches, the crystalline waters, the friendliness of everyone we came across. Our high point was the afternoon and evening spent at Lake Tsivoli, it was just so beautiful.
Many many thanks, we look forward to consulting you again for future holidays,

Ricardo G. arrived 12th July 2011

I just wanted to thank you both for all of your assistance prior to and during our vacation in Greece. And many thanks to Kelly for here helpful advice and assistance. We really loved the house, it was everything we expected. The girls loved the pool and we loved the charm. As I mentioned, I would have been content to sit on the porch with a book or some music and a beer the entire time. I hope Ben did not think it rude of us to not take him up on the very generous offer to show us the mountain villages, I would have enjoyed this very much, but Alexandra and the girls were a little worn out from day trips in Switzerland and our very hot trip to Mycenea, and they preferred to stay close to the pool and beach. Also, thanks to Ben for the jar of honey, we were planning to take it home and so we hadn't opened it, but during Alexandria's research prior to packing, she was convinced that we were not permitted to bring it.  We didn't open it until the day we left, it was delicious! We could have been enjoying it the entire stay. We hope that we will return to Greece in the future and will definitely look you up (as well as recommend you to any of our friends who may be looking to vacation in Greece in the future).
Best of luck and thanks again for everything.

Brian and Babs W. arrived 12th June 2010

Just a note to let you know how much we all enjoyed our holiday, I am now busy back at work. Once again thank you, everything went really well, apart from a flat tyre but thankfully that happened outside the Veranda Taverna but they came quite quickly and we were able to get up to Cave Lake, although we were thankful it did not happen on the mountain road. You can assure any guests there is absolutely no problem in Athens we had a nice day there and a good flight home. Do you have any villas in the south, we thought we might give that a whirl next year. I am sorry we did not see you to say cheerio. Speak to you soon.

David T. arrived 6th Sept 2009

First of all, Id like to thank Marie-Louise for offering us the opportunity to leave later on our final day -- it made a huge difference, we were able to have a lie in and enjoy the morning sunshine before heading off to the airport. It is that kind of personal touch that makes booking through a company like Pretty Greek Villas so worthwhile. I have recommened your firm to several people and would have no hesitation in booking with you again. Jacaranda House was charming -- well finished and equipped, a lovely garden and excellent village setting. It met all the requirements I asked for when booking. We have now stayed with you twice -- last year at Lefkada -- and would certainly do so again.

Simon G. arrived 1st Aug 2009

We did have a good holiday; Platanos was delightful and real and we particularly enjoyed the smallest bar/taverna. The people were extremely pleasant and friendly and we really appreciated the lack of tourists around us. Dinoís was a bonus too. Platanos was well placed for us to explore the area which was very beautiful and dramatic. The garden at Jacaranda was a treat with lovely flowers and scents. Please pass on our thanks to Ben and Marie Louise for their help with things like printing boarding passes, making telephone calls and such like! Ben telephoned the Avis hire car people about our missing bag.

Denis G. arrived 12th July 2009

Thanks for this holiday - it has been really great, enjoyable and memorable. Appreciate the effort you and Ben have put into it to make our stay comfortable. So count on us coming back next year to discover the Cyclades and Aegean experience next time around. Please do not forget to send me the reminder when it is time to start bothering about booking, so that we don't do it on a short notice next time.

Ali H. arrived 4th July 2009

We had a great holiday and loved the villa. The kids were more than happy playing in the pool and would have stayed there all day if they'd had their way!

Sally G. arrived 23th June 2007

We had a wonderful holiday in Platanos. It was such a lovely village and the locals were very friendly and welcoming. We ate in all the tavernas in the upper village. The lady at the cafe on the square prepared us a mixture of Greek home-cooked dishes one night and this was delicious. One evening, we went to the meat taverna in the mountains by the petrol station and watched the sun set. We were the only people there and it felt like they had just invited us into their home and cooked us a meal. They didnít seem prepared for us on arrival but the food they cooked-up was delicious. We also went to Longos beach a couple of times ñ this was our favourite beach. The water was so still and blue. There were lots of nice places to eat, too. We went to Daphneís bar a lot too she was very welcoming and the bar was beautiful. They boys loved the canoes and Dad loved the beer. James and I had a drive up into the mountains one afternoon (after Benís suggestion) and the scenery was breathtaking. We found Ancient Aigeria on route and this was very special. Anyway, thought I would just drop you a line to say thank you for a lovely holiday. The owners have truly created a Greek Oasis at Jacaranda House.
