Very pretty stone house with private pool located on hillside above the quiet surroundings of Kamini village

Kamini House is a lovely, two level stone house nestled into the hillside above the picturesque village of Kamini. The property has an excellent layout with each level having its own private entrance. From the main door, steps lead to the upper level of the house. The L-shaped main room is very long and spacious with vaulted ceiling and stone-flagged floors. There is a lovely living area with very simple but comfortable furnishings, a small dining area and a well equipped kitchen. Double doors at one end of the living room lead to a terrace with unusual views over Kamini and the mountains of Hydra. At the far side of the same room, another door leads to the dining room. On this upper level, there is a double bedroom and a twin bedroom and family bathroom. The double bedroom has a lovely terrace with superb views across the bay to Dhokos Island and the Peloponnese beyond. This is a wonderful spot for a 'sun downer'.

A stairway leads down from the living room to a guest suite. On the half landing is a cosy ‘alcove’ sleeping space with large single/small double bed. A few steps down is a comfortable living area with fireplace. Doors lead directly from the living area onto the pool terrace which is situated to the side of the house.

The pool terrace is set within a beautiful old stone walled garden punctuated by a very tall cypress tree and with a profusion of cloudy, blue plumbago and other Mediterranean plants. Resting just above the swimming pool is a long, stone terrace covered by a pergola and with a large outdoor dining table. This is a wonderful spot to enjoy the view of Hydra looking inland right across the very pretty village of Kamini.

The garden continues down the hillside through an arch in the wall and is planted with a variety of aromatic shrubs and colourful Mediterranean flowers.

Kamini is a lovely village where it seems as if time has stood still with its little main square with stone houses clad in age-old vines and with its own small harbour lined with brightly painted fishing boats. Despite the quietness of surroundings, Kamini boasts two of the best tavernas on the island with stunning views of the harbour and bay. The village is only about 10 mins walk from the main harbour and town of Hydra along the old battlements which are fringed with pine trees.
