This charming stone house set in the traditional Greek village of Melana on the east coast of the Peloponnese about one hour’s drive from Nafplion.

There are three large double bedrooms (each with an additional single bed) set on different levels of the house, with one full bathroom and one shower/toilet room. The main room of the house is a large, bright open-plan sitting/dining room fully equipped kitchen with a wonderful vaulted wooden ceiling, wooden floors and comfortable furnishings. French doors lead to a terrace with spectacular views across the Aegean Sea.

The terraced gardens and courtyard are full of herbs and flowers with plenty of space for outdoor eating. A traditional stone oven now functions ad a barbecue.

Melana House is suitable for those seeking a quiet holiday in traditional Greek village. The house is not for the faint-hearted since access is via a steep five minute climb from the village. It is a good location for exploring some of the main archaeological sites of the Peloponnese and the nearby Saronic islands of Hydra and Spetses. The Venetian town of Nafplion is one hour’s drive away and well worth a visit. The small, unspoilt local beach is a five minute drive away. Car hire is essential.
