This is a contemporary island style home with a funky theme. Beautifully designed, the open plan interior and exterior create a harmonious blend of interconnected spaces. Splashes of colour accent the brilliant white walls throughout. The result is a joyous fusion of traditional design with a contemporary look.

Through the main door, the entrance winds its way up to the first pergola. This is a lovely dining area with traditional seating arrangements, piles of vibrantly coloured cushions complemented by some beautiful terracotta urns. Inside, is an open plan living space, cleverly arranged with a very well equiped kitchen, living room (with traditional divans for extra sleeping space) and a raised area with a double bed and from here, access to the separate bathroom. French windows lead to the second shaded pergola with its large terrace.

Nektaria is in a rural setting on the far side of the island of Aegina to the main port (about a 15 minute drive) so car or moped hire is necessary. The drive is stunning through orchards of pistachio, almond, figs and grapes with cragged mountains in the distance and as you descend to the sea, the house becomes visible. There are local amenities within walking distance of the house. The nearest beach is 2 minutes by car or moped. The island of Aegina is easily accessible from Athens. By high speed catamaran or hydrofoil, the journey time from Pireaus is only 30 minutes.
