The Sound of the Sea
Imagine a serene bay with the gentle contours of small islands rising from the turquoise waters, a long beach stretching along a perfectly peaceful shoreline, a pretty garden with plumes of pink from the Yulibrissim trees stroking the waves and the loveliest of houses - this is The Sound of the Sea.
The Sound of the sea is a delightful villa situated right next to the sea on the eastern coast of the Peloponnese. This peaceful villa sleeps 4-5 guests in two bedrooms with two bathrooms and provides a wonderful setting for a self catering holiday villa in Greece.
The villa stands only metres from the shoreline, its long and spacious veranda running the length of the house. Here there are so many lovely places to relax and enjoy the beautiful view of the bay against the dazzling colours of the garden or to slip into the sea for a refreshing dip or simply to fish from the veranda and later to eat your catch at the huge marble table whilst watching the sun set over the many small islands.
The villa inside is as appealing as its surroundings. The ground floor has a beautiful living room with lovely views of the bay. A large archway leads to the spacious kitchen with elegant dining table for eight. The living room has a double height ceiling with a gallery running around three sides of its upper level giving a tremendous feeling of light and space. On this level, there is a very pretty bathroom with WC and shower with beautifully detailed mosaic tiles in colours reflecting the sea.
An open tread staircase leads to the upper level which has beautiful carved wooden floors in soft blonde wood and casement windows opening out onto the view of the bay. A lovely feature of the first double bedroom (with king-size bed) is the small window that is set at just the perfect height to gaze out over the bay from the comfortable bed. With the sound of the waves outside the window, you could almost imagine that you were gazing out of the port hole of a boat. The romantic gallery has a double bed screened off from a single bed with lovely views of the bay. These two bedrooms share a stylish bathroom with mosaic tiling in creams and beiges.
The villa is decorated beautifully throughout with many subtle, artistic touches, pretty rugs and kilims, comfortable sofas, atmospheric lamps and always the sound of the sea. There is air-conditioning throughout and WIFI internet. For families with small children the villa is well equipped with baby cot and high chair, blender, baby bath and stair-gate.
The property is very private including the beaches and coves below the house and there is a private mooring and small jetty just below the veranda where a boat can be tied. Surrounding the villa is a low fence so that children can play safely without running straight out to the sea and in front there is a small lawn with grass. On the terrace is the large marble table with in-built benches and cushions seating at least 12 guests. To the side of the veranda is the barbecue area with in-built barbecue and sink conveniently placed next to the kitchen door. There are also teak sun loungers and a coffee area shaded by an umbrella to enjoy the views out over the sea.
There is a long beach a few minutes walk from the villa which is usually quiet and within a 5 minute walk in the opposite direction is an excellent taverna on the sea-shore which is open daily during the main part of the season and at weekends at other times. The traditional village of Didima with shops and tavernas set in the hills above Salandi is about 10 mins drive away and there are various pretty fishing villages within a 15 - 20 min drive.
The area of Porto Heli is one of the little secrets of Greece. It is a beautiful part of the Peloponnese with many private islands owned by the elite of Greece and as such the local towns with their 18th and 19th Century mansions and their marinas lined with yachts offer a more exclusive selection of places to dine or shop.
The Sound of the Sea is in the perfect location to enjoy solitude, simplicity and quiet as well as the more harmonious... sound of the sea.

Thanks for your email. We loved Sound of the Sea and would definitely be interested in renting it again next summer...a really beautiful spot and loved the terrace..only thing I would say is the lighting inside the house wasn't great...especially in the kitchen but other than that we really liked it. Thanks for all your help,

I hope this mail finds you well and that you have been able to enjoy a
break after what was no doubt a busy summer for you.
We really enjoyed our holiday at the Sound of the Sea - a truly
wonderful location and Spiros and family were very welcoming and
hospitable. We got to tour around a little also, going to Porto Heli and
into Didima, as well as spending a few days in Nafplio after we had
finished our stay at the villa.
With thanks and best wishes,

Just a short note to thank you for a wonderful holiday last week. We absolutely loved the house, and the surrounding area, and will definitely be back.
Please pass on our thanks also to Sofia and her family.
Thank you again

We had a great week at Sound of the Sea: lovely villa, very well presented, well equipped and with lots of nice touches (beach towels, loads of fresh herbs etc).
The boat rental is a lovely idea and was much anticipated in the run up to the holiday.
Special mention for Poseidon Sports, 100yds along the beach from Takis. Run by two Brits this is a very well set up sailing/windsurfing/kayaking operation offering teaching and rental. We rented a Hobie Cat from them and spend an afternoon blasting round in the Meltemi (any time the wind has a name you want to be on the water!). May be a good recommendation for other guests in the Porto Heli area or looking for a holiday in Greece that includes this type of activity.

Pretty Greek Villas facilitated a great holiday for our family. The Sound of the Sea was the ideal retreat for a busy family. Our two young girls enjoyed the shore break some 10 feet away from the front door. We saw lots of wildlife including a tortoise and an aquarium of fish. Totally relaxing (10 books red) we felt honoured to stay in what was the owners pride and joy. Very happy memories for us all. Thanks

We have had a most enjoyable holiday but we could have done with an additional two weeks !
I would like to thank you very much indeed for your kind and most efficient handling of our holiday at the Sound of the Sea.Everything was perfect,Vassilis is very pleasant and a very re-assuring driver, Heli Cars gave us excellent service and the two persons involved a very charming. Both companies are an asset to your organisation.
We found an excellent butcher in Kranidi and Alpha Beta in Porte Heli amply satisfied all our requirements
The fish tavernas in Kalida were excellent and often used by us
The house was very comfortable, clean and well equipped.
We have been unable to identify the tree species at the end of the terrace, do you have any idea?
Once again very many thanks to you and the Nastatos family
Kindest regards and best wishes
