The most stunning aspect about Tamarisk House is its enviable position right on the sea-shore. Shaded by tamarisk trees, the garden slopes gently down and a hidden pathway leads to a glorious, sandy beach that is several kilometres long.
The villa is an excellent summer residence when the large French Windows can be opened right back to take full advantage of the spacious sea-facing verandas that surround the property. In the evenings, listening to the lull of the waves against the sea-shore with the cooling breeze of the surrounding tamarisk trees is a rare and magical experience. In winter, the villa has its own central heating system and cosy evenings can be spent around the large living room fireplace.
The villa is all on one level with a spacious kitchen and dining area that is excellently well equipped for guests who particularly enjoy cooking whilst on holiday. The open plan living room is an airy and comfortable room. Its double French Windows lead out onto a very spacious veranda with outdoor dining area with barbecue overlooking the garden and sea. There are two bedrooms in the main part of the villa; one twin/double bedroom and one double bedroom. Both of these bedrooms are furnished with new Coco-Mat beds that have mattresses made of natural metal-free materials. These two bedrooms share a large bathroom with shower.
The separate guesthouse is situated to the rear of the main villa. A small pathway leads through the garden at the back to the guesthouse entrance. This is a small and basic studio space with small double platform-style bed and separate bathroom with shower more suitable for a teenager or nanny rather than a couple.
The house benefits from landline telephone, ADSL/WIFI internet, DVD player, TV, CD player, air-conditioning, central heating* and washing machine. A cook and babysitter are available at an extra charge.
The whole property is surrounded by nature; sea and beach to the front, and farmland behind. Yet, the local tavernas, restaurants, cafes and shops are only about 0.5km away, the nearest restaurant being situated only 2 mins walk from the villa. This Western side of the Peloponnese is a traditional part of Greece and is an area rich in culture and history; there are many historical sites and places of interest within a short driving distance including Ancient Olympia. Within easy driving distance are the stunning medieval stone mountain villages of '˜The Mani' as well as the whole of the western coast of the Peloponnese to explore. From this property, the islands of Zakynthos and Kefalonia are a short ferry ride away and therefore make it a great choice for a two-location holiday.
Tamarisk House is an excellent spot for those looking to enjoy a beach holiday in a quiet and traditional spot with the possibility of exploring some of Greece's rich cultural heritage.
