Set within a beautiful, mature garden of Mediterranean shrubs, plants and trees, the large entrance to this stunning villa offers a gorgeous welcome. Stone clad walkways meander through the large estate revealing perfectly styled opulent areas perfect for relaxing in this idyllic location.
The exterior of the property has been influenced by Italian architecture with long stone-columned verandas shaded by terracotta-tiled grey wooden pergolas. In contrast, there is a modern twist running through the interior of the house blending a contemporary styling with antique detailing creating elegance and harmony.
The entrance hall has a feeling of grandeur with large metal windows and stone archways beyond enclosing the space. The grey-flagged soap stone floor is minimal and practical. The living room is elegant and modern with high quality sofas, TV above the fireplace and recessed lighting giving a subtlety to the ambience. Archways painted in white separate the living room from the dining area. From here, steps lead down below the arches to a very modern dining table with grey linen drapes hung elegantly at the windows. The vaulted wooden ceiling and recessed lighting runs round the edges like an elegant picture frame and shines a beautiful light on any sophisticated dinner party.
Moving on towards the rear of the property, there is a very well equipped kitchen with modern, stylish units in white. Large glass doors lead to the outside dining area and BBQ.
On the same level as the kitchen is the first bedroom suite with double bedroom and separate bathroom. The style is contemporary but with some well-chosen decorative antique pieces.
From the living room, an impressive stairway encased in glass lead to the upper level. At the top of the stairs you enter a hallway with modern art and antique cabinets containing a wealth of books.
The master bedroom is stunning and features a large bed placed centrally in the room and a wonderful ornate fireplace. French doors lead to a private terrace with colonial style furnishings and an awesome view over the bay below. The ensuite bathroom with its grey polished cement walls is minimal and contemporary and finished to the highest standards.
Back into the hallway a flight of steps leads through an archway to the third double bedroom of the house. The beautiful theme continues with built in wardrobes in a hard wooden antique style working so well with contemporary objects, modern art and the minimal grey floor running throughout. Grey drapes hang at the windows lending a peaceful atmosphere to the room. There is a separate WC and marble shower room with twin basins. The fourth bedroom is located on the other side of the hallway and consists of a double bedroom and separate ensuite bathroom equipped to an equally impressive standard.
The horizon swimming pool is suspended over the bay. It has been finished in a pebble effect which sparkles in the summer sun. The pool surround is a beautiful brushed marble flagging. Although the position of the pool looks dramatic, the entire outside area feels protected by the surrounding landscape of Cypress trees and is perfectly safe for little ones in the group. Yachts moored in the bay below are rather lovely to look down on while the entire outside area of Alisahni is completely private. There is also a separate jacuzzi for those romantic moments late into the night….
Just outside the indoor kitchen is a large outside dining area which is located close to a traditional BBQ. It is shaded by a wooden pergola painted grey and is a perfect place to enjoy those al fresco meals with friends. The table is teak and rather beautiful with plenty of comfortable seating.
The villa is within walking distance to the sea and a short drive to tavernas, shops and bars. There is a five star hotel within 5 mins walk of the villa and guests can access all the hotel facilities including a fully equipped gym, a beautiful yoga area overlooking the Aegean Sea, private beach, elegant restaurant, cafe and bar as well as massage and beauty.
Alishani is located in an exclusive area of the Ionian Archipelago close to Paxos and Corfu in a location that is not well-known to tourists. It is possible to rent a luxury RIB at an extra cost to explore the bays and coastline of this exquisite region of mainland Greece with its translucent turquoise waters, stunning beaches and verdant hillsides. The monsteries of Meteora are easily reached within a day as is the Ottoman lake town of Ioannina. For those who wish to explore the impressive gorge, stone bridges and exquisite stone villages of Zagoria trips can be arranged.
It is very rare to find a property offering such a refined level of luxury. It should appeal to groups of adult friends wanting to share some fine moments in an exceptionally beautiful part of Greece.
