Aloe-Vera is a stone property situated above the charming fishing village of Kamini, only 5 mins walk from the nearest cove for swimming. The house is very private and peaceful with serene views over the town of Hydra and the hills beyond. The house is in an excellent position to explore some of the best walks on the island and to sample the village life, which is the unique flavour that Hydra offers. One recommended walk is to the bay of Vlichos.
The entrance to the property leads to a very large and secluded courtyard garden planted with unusual cacti plants and with dining and seating areas that have been carved out of the surrounding rock.
From the courtyard, the entrance leads into a charming cottage kitchen with dining area carved out of the rock. A flight of stairs leads to the upper level which consists of a living room and a double bedroom with queen-sized bed. Ceiling fans are also present. The living room is incredibly charming, colourful and brightly decorated. The ceiling is vaulted and constructed in a traditional way exposing the wooden beams. A 3rd guest can be accommodated on a single divan bed which is screened off from the rest of the living room for privacy. An external stone staircase leads from the bedroom to a very pretty patio below. There is a WC/shower room inside and a second smaller WC/shower which is situated under one of the stone arches downstairs in the courtyard. An external shower is also located under the outside steps of the main entrance which is useful after returning from the sea.
This is a well equipped property with air-conditioning in the living room and bedroom, ceiling fans, mosquito nets on doors and windows, WIFI, TV, DVD, radio, CD and MP3 player, and is comfortably furnished throughout.
Kamini is a lovely village where it seems as if time has stood still with its little main square with stone houses clad in age-old vines and with its own small harbour lined with brightly painted fishing boats. Despite the quietness of surroundings, Kamini boasts three excellent tavernas with stunning views of the harbour and bay as well one of the best beach bar-restaurants on the island. The village is only about 10 - 15 mins walk from the main harbour and town of Hydra along the old battlements which are fringed with pine trees. Guests need to be aware that Hydra has many steps so an average level of fitness and mobility is required.
Aloe-Vera villa really is a super little property and provides a setting that is unique and with the quintessential flavour of Hydra.
Prices below are based on 2 guests sharing one bedroom. A 3rd guest or a 2nd guest using the single bed in the living room can be accommodated at Euro 20/day extra. Please note that the property is not suitable for children under the age of 12. In August, minimum length of stay is 14 nights.

We had the most amazing break. Hydra is a very very special place and we will be returning 100%. We loved Aloe Vera. It was perfect for our needs. It s always hard finding properties that sleep only 2 people. It was a welcome relief to find everything working properly (aircon!!) and also very comfy beds, which I find many villas seem to lack. We both thought it was charming and really appreciated the care that Iris takes to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Everything was well tended and super clean. There was the offer of having our washing done which was very kind, but unnecessary in our case. We use dirty clothes as an excuse to buy new ones.

Back to work I am still having good memories about my stay on Hydra in my mind. So thanks for asking! Hydra isn´t a "new" island for me - I have been there several times. Nevertheless Hydra seems to be always worth a visit.

What can I say ...we had a fabulous time . We have travelled to several of the Greek Islands but it was a first for Hydra and fell in love with it , we did a lot of walking and found the countryside beautiful and the total lack of vehicles an absolute delight. Hydra town was good fun, with a mix of traditional Greek tavernas and some really very sophisticated restaurants. We stayed in Kamini which was lovely , missing being woken by donkeys .... Aloe Vera villa was a home rather than a holiday villa with every possible item you could imagine . Iris was fantastic , even cooked us a meal the evening we arrived and was the font of all knowledge regarding the island. Big thank you to you and your team too , booking was so easy ,we only met Tracey once , the night we arrived, please convey our thanks to her , due to adverse weather conditions we were very late missing sea taxis and donkeys ...Tracey helped us carry our luggage through hydra to Kamini, far and above the call of duty!

We had a really fantastic time at Villa Aloe Vera. It's funny because when we were booking our holiday it came down to a toss-up between the villa on Hydra and a hotel on Siros. They were the same price. Looking back now, I can't believe we were even considering the hotel over the villa. In Kamini, we had tons of space for the two of us. The house was simple but perfect. The lovely courtyard really makes the place. Everything went smoothly, from being met off the boat to having the mule train waiting to pick up our bags when we left. Kamini was wonderful. I think we both preferred being out of Hydra town itself. We're pretty mobile, so it really didn't make much difference, and the walk round the coast is really special. Also in Kamini, youre closer to a lot of excellent swimming spots. We definitely want to return to Hydra. It really suited us. It was a great holiday, so many thanks.

Our stay and holiday at Aloe Vera was wonderful, under many aspects. We liked the fact the the villa is in a quiet spot of Hydra, but still close to main town, shops and restaurants. The owner has been very kind and helpful throughout the whole period; we were welcomed perfectly, helped when we needed info and tips. The villa is really beautiful, simple but very carefully designed and decorated. The bedroom is really quiet and we slept extremely well. I will certainly recommend it to anybody who wants to stay in Hydra.

We had a fabulous time at Aloe Vera, Hydra.We arrived in a heatwave for the island and the air conditioning was crucial! We were well looked after and knew that we could ask for advice at any time. The villa is extremely well maintained and carefully equipped, down to a torch for evening walking out.It is also very charming. We wanted for nothing. When we arrived there was plenty of water, coffee etc. and a great description of tavernas we could go to. The villa was regularly cleaned. We would highly recommend it and hope to return one day.

What a fantastic place Hydra is, we had a fab holiday thank you. Our transfers were extremly efficient, Vassilis was charming & very interesting, giving us an insite into the events occurring in Greece today,along with the history etc. And although expensive , the taxi ride was beautiful & v. civilised. To be met by the same driver on our return was lovely, we continued where we left off !. Great idea to spend excess time in Plaka, fascinating place & so calm ( other than the odd demonstration !). Would def think about a w/e in Plaka , had'nt realised you can be somewhere so central without the chaos. Aloe Vera was truly perfect. Iris certainly has an artistic eye, her attention to detail showed everywhere. The cottage is beautiful & the courtyard sublime. To have so much space/privacy/peace , it was better than we could have hoped. Iris herself was so keen to make our holiday perfect. Perhaps she worries a bit too much on that score !, but is v well intentioned. We are v impressed by Pretty Greek Villas, you certainly go the extra mile, are v efficient, have a winning formula.

Paul and I had an absolutely fantastic stay at Aloe Vera in Hydra. The cottage was simply beautiful - tastefully decoated and personalised with the owners belongings and own artwork. The attention to detail was superb and made us feel very welcome, as if we were staying in a home rather than simply a house. Tracey met us on arrival and we bumped into her many times during our stay. She as warm and welcoming, very friendly and relaxed. When we got to our cottage we met the owner - Iris, well what can we say - she was just so, so lovely! Iris had put special little touches in the cottage to welcome us, including flowers, champagne and flowers (as we were newly weds) fresh lemons, home-made jams and other goodeis in the fridge, lavender on the towels. It felt so special, absolutely lovely. Iris was so friendly and helpful - within a day we felt as if we had known her all our lives and we were on holiday visiting a close friend. She helped us with many aspects of our holiday including recommending restaurants, beaches and booking things for us i.e. flying dolphine and a private taxi to get us back to the airport! She is wonderful! The island was lovely - just what we wanted for our honeymoon - no cars (wow, what a difference that makes!) very, very pretty. We loved the cobbled streets, cafes,fishing boats, donkeys, flowers, cats! - in fact, everything. The beaches were great - very quiet (at the right time of the day) all with cafes nearby (very Shirly Valentine!) We found some super places to eat. The castello restaurant at Kimini beach, Theo's in Kamini (can't remember it's real name - Theo is the owner, Lulu's and Ostria in Hydra. Your company were very helpful in the booking process and gave us excellent information to start us on our way. We would definately use your company again and will recommend you to others.
