Villa Ariadne is a superb villa of modern design located in a magnificent position on a hilltop overlooking the Aegean sea surrounded by lemon trees, pomegranates and other Mediterranean herbs and flowers.

Natural materials such as wood and stone have been used in its construction and blend harmoniously with the surrounding terrain. In combination with the very stylish design and subtle colours of the interior as well as the wooden deck around the swimming pool area and beautiful gardens, the villa is the perfect destination for families or groups of people who are seeking for a place to relax and enjoy all the comforts of a modern villa.
The villa is on 3 levels. The first floor features two bedrooms. One with a king-size bed and one with twin beds which can be joined to form a king-size bed. The two rooms share a large bathroom with shower. On this floor there is also a living room with a flat-screen satellite TV, a CD player and a Play Station 3. This level has direct access to the east courtyard and the pool.
The second floor has a large open plan space with a comfortable living area with a fireplace and a flat-screen satellite TV, a dining area and a fully equipped kitchen. The large corner sofa in the living area can comfortably sleep two children. There is also a guest bathroom on this level and a large terrace with an outdoor dining table offering amazing sea views. This level of the villa has access to the west courtyard.
The third floor, the attic, features the third bedroom which has a double bed, en suite bathroom with shower, an office with library and beautiful views over the Aegean sea.
The villa has free wi-fi access and air conditioning in all rooms.
Outside the courtyards are developed on 4 levels. The entry level with lawn, shrubs and trees, the second level with a variety of fruit trees such as lemon, orange, pear and mandarin. The third level is the swimming pool level with herbaceous bushes, roses, olive and woodland trees and a large (120m2) lawn area where children can play. On this level there is an external closed shower and WC and an outdoor shower by the pool. The large pool is surrounded by a wooden deck with sun loungers, umbrellas and a swing. There is also a comfortable sitting area and a bbq area with an outdoor dining table that can comfortably sit 8 people. The fourth level has a ping-pong table a 1/2 basket and tennis court for practising and a variety of pomegranate and other fruit trees.
The villa is located 23 km from the town of Heraklion, 47 km from Rethymno and 118 km from Chania. The small coastal town of Agia Pelagia with its lovely sandy beach is only 2.6 km away from the villa and Monoraftis Beach is at a distance of 2.4 km from the villa. Two more beaches located in the surrounding area are Psaromoura Beach at 2.8 km and Lygaria at 6.5 km. There is a supermarket just 50m from the villa. Heraklion International Airport (HER) is 31 km away and Chania International Airport (CHQ) 142 km away making it possible to use either airport.

We had an absolutely fantastic holiday. We were amazed to be able to go and are back home now. Both villas were beautiful and perfect for us. They were different experiences and we were pleased with the order we chose. Both hosts were lovely. No COVID worries. We would love to go back to Crete and would be interested in the north east next time.
