Villa Drakothea has been beautifully and artistically decorated throughout, this property sits in an unrivalled position with far-reaching views over Lia Bay surrounded by utter tranquillity.
Entering the main house, there is a large, rounded living room featuring a magnificent antique stone fireplace. Furnishings are comfortable throughout and the views over the bay are spectacular. The traditional style kitchen is fully equipped and a joy for serious cooks, whilst guests in the cooler months can enjoy the spacious indoor dining area. Doors lead out to the terraces, pool and garden.
The main house has four bedrooms: A master bedroom with king-size bed and en-suite bathroom which has its own private balcony overlooking the bay; a guest bedroom with queen-size bed and en-suite bathroom with access to an idyllic terrace with sea views; and a third guest bedroom with queen-size bed and en-suite bathroom with direct access to the pool terrace and garden, and a newly added guest double bedroom with en-suite bathroom and extra single bed.
Close to the pool is a delightful guest house with queen-size bed and en-suite bathroom and its own private terrace.
The property has air-conditioning and i-pod dock in every bedroom, SAT TV, DVD, music system and WIFI. Guests are particularly well-looked after at this property with a daily maid service, concierge services and transfers to and from the villa to the airport or port on the day of arrival and departure.
Throughout the property, the furnishings are of the highest quality but it is the decor that is truly unique: antique doors lead through to rooms that have an ethereal atmosphere, reclaimed wood and stone have been used and blend perfectly with the softly, sculpted 'cimentagonia' floors, and atmospheric lighting illuminates the beautiful pieces of artwork.
Lying tantalisingly above the bay is a lagoon-shaped infinity swimming pool that seems to have been chiselled out of the surrounding rocks and blends seamlessly with the indigo waters of Lia Bay below. There are various terraces surrounded by lush gardens including a wonderful outdoor dining terrace covered by a pergola with traditional stone-built barbecue, and outdoor living area with an array of brightly coloured cushions where guests can relax and take in the immense view.
Lia Bay is one of the least developed areas of Mykonos where pristine nature blends perfectly with the deep blue of the sea. With no near neighbours, Villa Drakothea is in a private position where the silence of the bay can envelop guests with only the sea breeze or call of a bird in flight to break the calm. The nearest beach is a 5 min drive. Shops and tavernas are about 5 mins drive away in Ano Mera and Mykonos Town is about 25 mins drive.
For guests who want to find something imaginative, artistic and unique without compromising on luxury, Villa Drakothea is the perfect property. The charm of its old Mykonian atmosphere will stay with you long after the summer has faded.
