Dear Marie-Louise,
Profuse apologies for the delay with this. I wanted the review to be
as thorough as possible and I have been snowed under finishing the last semester of my public health degree.
Villa Elia
I feel I must start at the beginning to give you a true picture of our
stay. The honesty of Marie-Louise and the staff at Pretty Greek Villas was very much appreciated.
Marie-Louise explained to me that the villa was not far from the airport.
I have travelled to smaller Greek Islands and always been fairly close to the airports so this wasn't a problem for me.
However, I don't think this would be a problem for many people.
The property is situated in its own large grounds with plenty of parking and with many trees and shrubbery.
You could be 5 minutes from an airport or 5 hours. You are not aware of it whilst at the property.
( we stayed for 10 days so had a good range of days to judge)
On arrival, we were blessed to be greeted by Carlos and his mother,
owners of the property. They had prepared a beautiful meal for us ( roast chicken, roast potatoes, Greek salad, beer, wine, coke).
The fridge was stocked as was the house. These were items including eggs, bacon, fruit, bread, coffee and tea etc.
The house was beautiful and to an exceptional standard.
As were all of the appliances, cooking facilities, Ralph Lauren bed linen, Kores toiletries and air conditioning.
Also, electric bug screens/shutters throughout. The pool was wonderful and was cleaned and maintained constantly.
There were also mountain bikes for adults free to use.
Carlos kindly drove me to the capital to show me all of the grocers, fish market, fruit and vegetable market etc. Anything we needed was not too much trouble and when Carlos and his mother went back to Athens they left a lovely lady to care for us who they brought to the villa and introduced.
The area is lovely. About a 5-8 minute walk is a beautiful sandy clean beach which I went to swim in the sea every morning with sun beds for hire and a small cantina. This was a small, non touristy beach. Very nice.
Further this way there were other beaches which you could walk or drive to.
There was also another beach about a 25 minute walk from the house which was busier and slightly more touristy. It was about a 5 minute drive. Also near this beach was a couple of tavernas and a small supermarket which was extremely friendly.
We compared its prices to the larger supermarkets in town and surprisingly they were cheaper in the small one. They also had fresh bread each day apart from Sunday.
There were several nights that we walked to the tavernas but it was quite a stroll with 4 children.
I would suggest a car for ease to get groceries and visit other places on the island which we did venture to.
We only had a car for 3 days though.
This is one of the loveliest villas I have stayed in.
If you would like to ask any questions regarding our visit please feel free to contact me.
Kindest regards,
Hayley

Dear Marie-Louise and Vickie
Thank you for your emails following our stay at these three beautiful villas. We had a really wonderful time there. The set-up was perfect for our large family group, especially the stylish and comfortable outside space which allowed for easy flow between the villas for group meals etc but also plenty of places for people to retreat to when they wanted quieter moments. It was lovely to meet Maria, the owner, who was very helpful, and the housekeepers, Danilo and Marife, who were delightful and gave us a hugely relaxing stay. If you would like us to provide a review, we would be happy to do so.
With best wishes and many thanks for your help in organising our trip
Deborah
