Eurydice has been designed with a contemporary element using traditional materials. The result is harmonious, and reflects the unique character of Tinos, an island loved by artists thanks to its unspoilt, wild beauty and rich tradition.
The exterior is a perfect marriage between the natural stone of the island and white washed walls. The view across the great expanse of the Aegean Sea, eleven islands silhouetted by the summer sun, provides a long lasting experience not to be forgotten. It is spectacular.
The house has a fully equipped kitchen, a comfortable living room and 4 bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms and a separate guest house especially made for two.
Minimal and artistic styling runs throughout the building, courtyards of stone linking each area, revealing each of the house’s little secrets at the right part of the day. Funky elongated windows ‘picture framing’ specific features of the exterior landscape and larger windows bring the impressive view inside. Modern art hangs on the walls giving a feeling of tranquillity to this beautiful property, stone juts out of the garden like sculptures and there is always a bench or chair to recline in, perfect for taking in an angle of the house or the impressive view which lies beyond.
Entering the house, guests are greeted by a lovely living room and modern comfortable sofa. Glass doors lead to the terrace outside. Through an archway and down a step you enter a very charming area featuring a dining table for 6 and large, fully fitted kitchen. Conveniently large glass sliding doors lead to a huge dining area outside with BBQ which are covered by a wooden pergola suspended by stone pillars. The interior decor is a lovely blend of polished cement flooring, walls painted white and a truffle coloured wooden ceiling. Splashes of purple and grey bring a subtle frisson to the simple styling. TV, DVD, sound system and Wifi internet are all present at the villa.
There are two double bedrooms with ensuite facilities situated on the ground floor benefitting from AC. Each has direct access to the pool terrace and sunlounging area.
The upper level hosts a master double bedroom suite with super views over the Aegean Sea. Stylish built in wardrobes, air conditioning and ensuite bathroom facilities complete the luxury of this wonderful room.
Downstairs is the fourth double bedroom also with ensuite facilities. French style doors lead to a lower private courtyard. Guests can easily access the pool terrace by large stone steps outside which lead upstairs.
Outside, the beautiful pool is recessed into the surrounding terrace. There are many places to sit, relax and sunbathe on different levels due to the clever sunken feature of the pool, all taking full advantage of the impressive view.
The surrounding plot has a vegetable and herb garden from which guests are encouraged to collect and use in their cooking.
Below the pool terrace and hidden out of sight is the little guest house perfect for two. It is completely private and provides a ‘love nest’ environment which has been honed out of the rock. The interior consists of kitchenette, double bedroom, separate shower room and an outside/inside cavelike lounge area for those private romantic moments. It would be perfect for the younger adults in the group, or perhaps the older wanting some ‘time out’ alone.
Located in the southeast side of Tinos close to Triantaros and Berdemiaros villages, Eurydice has been designed for total relaxation. The closest beach is 8 km drive away, while Tinos main town is a 15 minute drive.
Tinos is a special island, ideal for lovers of traditional architecture and nature. Guests can visit more than 50 traditional villages, each with distinct character and offering some of the best food in Greece.
Tinos is considered a sacred island for Orthodox and Catholics alike and an annual pilgrimage takes place here every year. Guests can also enjoy great hikes or horse riding in scenic trails, and choose among many glorious beaches.
The tranquillity of the island is very much in evidence but it equally offers modern amenities and facilities including bank services, ATM, yacht marina and helipad. Tinos is well-connected to numerous other interesting islands including Mykonos, Andros, Syros, Naxos, Paros, Antiparos and as such can be a great choice for a multi-destination holiday. Built within the same plot but totally private is the brother villa - Orpheus. Neither property impinges on the other, they are both totally private but they can be rented together to provide a great solution for larger groups.
Either way, Eurydice is a gem of a villa, suited to a large family or group of friends wanting to explore this slightly ‘off the beaten track’ island of Tinos. We loved it when we visited!
