Elegant country house nestled in the hills of Spetses with beautiful pool, olive grove and fabulous view

Located in the hills directly above the Old Harbour of Spetses, this beautiful and elegant country house is surrounded by nature and olive groves, where the only sound are the cicadas or goat bells on the breeze, and with views of the Saronic Gulf and its islands unfurling below.
The style of the property encapsulates both the neo-classical heritage of the island and the gentle beauty of its Mediterranean landscape almost Tuscan in style. The property iis tasteful and aristocratic in every way from the distemper painted ochre walls to the dove grey wooden shutters and stone flagged flooring.
The sweeping approach, through the grounds of the estate leads to the main entrance of the property which is grand and in style. There is a long hallway with stairs leading to the upper level, a door leading to the front terrace, the living room on the left and a master bedroom suite on the right and guest WC.
The living room is beautifully furnished with antique wooden cabinets and comfortable sofas which surround a large coffee table in front of a lovely open hearth. There is Satellite TV plus an excellent stereo sound system. French windows lead from the living room onto the main terrace. The kitchen and dining area are located off the living room. The farmhouse style kitchen is well equipped with all modern conveniences including espresso machine and dishwasher and the indoor dining area is an elegant and airy space.
The main terrance outside is large and on two sides. Accessed from the kitchen, there is a perfect outdoor dining area under a shady pergola. The terrace continues around to the front of the property where there is an outdoor living area where guests can enjoy the beauty of the view, and it is a very special spot to enjoy a cocktail at sundown with the view of the islands of Hydra and Dhokos in the distance.
The Master bedroom suite on the ground floor is large and contains a private office and library. There are colourful rugs on the tiled floor which are a beautiful addition to the colonial styling and the double bed is very large. The room has air conditioning and a ceiling fan, en-suite shower and WC facilities and large wardrobes.
Upstairs, are three bedrooms. The first is a double bedroom with en-suite bath facilities and private balcony which benefits from awesome views across the estate, harbour and Saronic Gulf. The second bedroom has twin beds and the third has a double bed. Both these bedrooms share a WC and shower roof. A lovely addition to this upper level is a large veranda with stairs leading to the entrance level below.
On the lower ground floor is the 5th bedroom with double bed and en-suite bathroom. This used to be the maid's room.
From the main terrace, pathways and steps meander to the many different levels of the property. The pool terrace is beautiful and set within nature surrounded by stone walls, cascading plants and olive trees. It almost has a Tuscan feel. Under the shade of the trees is a clearing where there are chairs and sun-loungers in front of the wonderful Mediterranean panorama.
The property is located in a very private location. The Old Harbour of Spetses with its many tavernas, cafes and bars is approx a 10 minute drive away. Dapia and the main town of Spetses is also 10 minutes and the popular beach of Agia Marina lies almost directly below the property and takes 5 minutes by scooter. One quad bike is included in the price of the villa, and we can arrange the hire of quads or scooters for the remaining guests. Please note quad bike hire or scooters are essential for this property.
There is a daily housekeeper included, who prepares breakfast and one main meal a day if guests would like this (ingredients are extra).

Thank you for all your help with our stay at the House on the Hill.
The position and framework of the house was idyllic truly incredible views, loved how tucked away it was and yet so close to town. If the owner ever wants to sell then please let me know.
Matina was absolutely lovely and Lisa was an enormous help with translating and came over a few nights to help with dinner parties when we had friends over - very much appreciated.
Thank you again for all your help particularly with all of the travel arrangements, which would have been a minefield without you.
