Villa Irida is a fabulous, contemporary style property on the Mainland in a location that is off the usual tourist map. The area is characterised by vast natural springs and therapeutic spas, and is in an area cooled by thick pine forests reaching down to the crystalline waters of the Ionian Sea.
The villa has the capacity to accommodate up to 17 guests in 8 bedrooms with 6 bathrooms though the villa has been very well designed so that smaller groups of guests can also be accommodated comfortably.
The ground level has a wonderful open plan living room with dining area and fully-equipped kitchen. Doors lead to the outdoor dining terrace overlooking the pool. On this level there are two double guest rooms each with their own bathrooms and with sea views.
On the first floor is the master double bedroom featuring a fireplace and its own large balcony overlooking the sea. This bedroom has a king-size bed and its own en-suite bathroom. On this level, there are also two further bedrooms with balconies overlooking the pool - one bedroom has a double bed, the other bedroom can be either made up with either a double bed or two single beds. These two bedrooms share a bathroom with shower.
For parties of more than 10 guests, there is a very spacious self-contained apartment on the lower ground level of the property with its own separate entrance. This apartment has a 2nd master bedroom with king-size bed, large-screen Samsung TV, bar area, kitchenette with table, and seating area with sofa and chairs. There is also another double bedroom on this level with ensuite bathroom that is suitable for children or a nanny. There is also a separate maid's room with its own entrance, kitchenette and bathroom that can also be used for an additional single guest. There is also an office on the first floor that can be used to accommodate one single guest. These additional rooms are not included in the prices below and prices are upon application depending upon the number of extra rooms required.
For all guests' use, on the lower ground level, there is a utility room, sauna with small pool, shower and WC as well as games room.
The grounds surrounding the property are very large with lawns, olive trees and landscaped gardens. There is a large pool (14m x 7m) with outdoor double shower as well as flood-lit tennis court and basket-ball area. There are 15 sun loungers and comfortable outdoor seating areas, as well as a fabulous covered barbecue area with outdoor dining for up to 12 guests, in-built barbecue, pizza oven, bar, fridge and sink. The entire property overlooks the crystalline sea below and guests can enjoy spectacular sunsets as the sun sets to the west of the Gulf of Corinth.
For guests who do not wish to drive, there is a driver with jeep available at an extra cost who can do shopping or take guests out to local tavernas and beaches or on excursions. There is also a motorboat with skipper available.
The sea is just 450m from the villa and within walking distance. Unusually, guests can also enjoy lake swimming in Vouliagmeni lake which is 500m from the villa. Other tavernas, shops and beaches are a very short drive away. The area has some beautiful beaches such as Strava beach, Porto Germeno beach, Psatha and Sterna beaches all with crystal clear waters and fringed by pine trees.
The property is on the border of Mainland Greece with the Peloponnese so there are many interesting historical sites to visit easily including Ancient Corinth, Epidavros and Mycenae as well as the Venetian town of Nafplion. There is the pristine Lake of Vouliamgeni just 300m from the villa as well as many Byzantine monasteries. Since ancient times, this area has been famous for its spas and abundant springs. A highlight of this property is the fabulous modern all-season spa just 15 mins drive from the villa. Visiting Athens is also easy from this villa since it is only 1 hr 15 mins drive away and there is also a local, modern train.
This is a great property for a large, extended family holiday or for a group of friends who would enjoy exploring a more unusual part of Greece but have all the luxuries and comforts of an exceptionally well-appointed villa with plenty to keep everyone happy.
