Villa Kalomira is located on the Gulf of Mirabello across the bay from the sought-after area of Elounda. It is a unique Cycladian-style villa built by a renowned architect featuring softly-sculptured organic shapes, lushly planted gardens and breathtaking views over the sea.

This luxury single-level villa comprises a main house and a guest house. The main house has a beautiful living room opening onto the pool terrace, a very stylish and well-equipped kitchen, a double bedroom with king-size bed and en-suite bathroom with shower, and a second double bedroom also with king-size bed and separate bathroom with shower.

The Cycladic guest house has a 3rd double bedroom with king-size bed and en-suite bathroom with shower.

The villa and gardens have been designed to provide multiple areas of shade during the day as the sun moves around the villa. The stunning pool terrace features a private pool (32sqm), luxurious Jacuzzi for four and large sundeck. There is an elegant shaded outdoor living area and dining area with a stone hand-made barbecue with wood oven. From the terrace there are panoramic views right out over Tholos bay and the island of Psira.

The garden and orchard combine decorative and scented species in order to enjoy fruits and flowers the entire year round: olives, oranges, mandarins, lemons, figs, mousmoulia (a type of peach), pomegranate and aromatic plants including mint and rosemary, turn sitting in the shaded lounge near the garden into a deeply relaxing experience.

The villa is very well equipped throughout. There is Satellite TV, WIFI, air-conditioning and twice weekly maid service.

Just 5 mins drive from the villa is Tholos Beach which is surrounded by ancient olive groves and vineyards. The beach is a mixture of pebble and sand with a small harbour at one end. There are several tamarisk trees near the beach where you can find shade and there is also a new taverna. The water is an unusual blurred colour of exotic tropical turquoise which is due to the underwater springs of fresh water coming from the massif of Thipti mountain (Tholos means blurred in Greek).

In the local village of Kavousi (4kms) traditional fresh Cretan food is available at a number of tavernas. The closest airport is Heraklion Airport just over one hour’s drive away. This is an excellent area of Crete to explore many interesting historical sites and to enjoy Greek traditional life at its best.

We had an absolutely fantastic holiday. We were amazed to be able to go and are back home now. Both villas were beautiful and perfect for us. They were different experiences and we were pleased with the order we chose. Villa achilleas had the most amazing position and views that we have ever experienced. The villa was beautiful - very traditional in look with stylish décor and the most amazing view.

Maria and Stefano were so friendly and helpful; the owners are very lucky to have them looking after the property.

We arrived late evening and were blown away by the sunning views that were to greet us the following morning, the villa itself was also perfect; comfortable, stylish , well equipped and blissfully peaceful. Eleni was lovely and answered any questions we had.

We hired a boat between Elounda and Plaka a couple of times , so we could enjoy some snorkelling and swimming, lovely friendly guys there. Loved Tholos beach and visited a couple of others too. This was our first time to Crete and we loved what we saw and the abundance of olive trees in the area we were staying in.

Perfect retreat for us ! we look forward to booking with you again in the future.
