A historic, two-story sea captain's house built in the early 19th century, the Kiafa residence is a jewel crowning the hillside overlooking the village of Hydra and the nearby Saronic Gulf islands. The stone residence was rebuilt in 1979 and restored in 1992 by a talented architect who received a national award for the best restored traditional house.
Today, Villa Kiafa perfectly blends the allure of luxury with a fascination of the past. Pure island atmosphere, simple refined decoration, charming outdoor living areas and a small swimming pool with wonderful views create a unique atmosphere of absolute peace and visual splendour.
On the ground floor, there is a double bedroom with en-suite bathroom, a living room with impressive vaulted ceiling that has two sofa beds should they be required. There is a well equipped, open plan kitchen and dining room that opens onto a lovely terrace for the perfect breakfast.
On the second floor there is a large lounge area with an open fireplace and french doors which lead to a balcony offering superb views of the Kamini and Hydra town. This grand space has a double bedroom and en-suite bathroom facilites.
Kiafa Resindence is a fantastic example of the local architecture with one of the finest views across the Hydra town and the Saronic Gulf.

We have been coming to Villa Kaifa for six years in a row and plan to go for a seventh. Although the walk from the harbour is not to beunderestimated the views from the Villa over Hydra Town and Kamini are unrivalled and make it all worthwhile.The house is old and has been lovingly restored by its architect owner retaining much of the character of the original. Not only do the two front terraces have great views, standing in the pool with a glass of wine in hand watching the glorious sunsets over the Peloponnese is always breathtaking . At the rear there is a secluded and beautifully kept courtyard garden with shade, ideal for having time to ponder. We love this Villa and its friendly owner and thoroughly recommend it.

Got back to a grey London early this morning. We had a brilliant time and the Villa was spectacular in so many ways not least because of the generosity of Kaiti ,the owner ,who met us in and had seen to small things like making sure that all the tea light holders had new tea lights in - small but made an impression! One thing that I think should be pointed out to potential Hirers is the walk from the harbour to the villa. It is only 15 / 20 minutes but it is almost vertical and in temperatures of over 100 degrees not to be undertaken lightly however to flop into the pool after is amazing! I should also mention Vasillis the taxi driver who was great and very reliable.

Thank you all for making our holiday possible. We enjoyed our stay in Hydra very much and it was a truly memorable holiday for our family. We would also like to personally thank Katy the owner for letting us stay in her home, we meant to pick up the contact details she left us but we left them behind on the table so we cannot call her as planned. If you could forward an address or email we would like to write and thank her. We appreciate it was her home and that it was so personal to her, I think that is what made staying at the house so special. Kiafa is a beautiful house with incredible views in a stunning location we would have liked to explore more but it was so hot! We were very interested to read about its history and its architect. We do have a few comments which might be helpful. We thought the organisation and communication from Pretty Greek Villas was excellent. All the information you sent us made planning the holiday easy and the travel straight forward. We appreciated the donkey lady meeting us and it was helpful to go via the super market. Once again we would like to thank you all, we had a great time and certainly want to revisit Hydra using Pretty Greek Villas and, if possible stay at Kiafa, while we are youngish and fit!!
