Beach-fronted family villa with stunning views over the Ionian Archipelago
Villa Nadia is one of four contemporary style villas situated in a quiet position on Paleros Bay. The villas have been cleverly designed so that each is totally private and cannot be overlooked. Villa Nadia is in a prime position right on the waterfront only steps away from the beach.
The villa is on three levels. On the ground floor level is a comfortably furnished open plan living room with well-equipped kitchen and large glass doors leading out onto a spacious terrace with views of the bay below.
On the upper level is a wonderful master bedroom that has been stylishly with large en-suite bathroom with shower and walk-in dressing room. Glass doors lead out to a very private balcony with exceptional views over the bay. On this level, there is also a 2nd double bedroom with en-suite bathroom and fabulous views over the bay.
The lowest level of the house has three further bedrooms each with its own en-suite bathroom: There is 1 double bedroom, 1 bedroom with 2 single beds and 1 bedroom with single bed.
The villa interiors are contemporary and minimalist in style using natural wood and stone, with very comfortable and stylish furnishings. There is WIFI, i-pod docking station, TV and DVD as well as air-conditioning throughout.
Outside, is a very spacious teak terrace running the length of the property with large outdoor dining area with in-built seating area, as well as an outdoor living area with in-built sofa with plenty of cushions above the swimming pool. Very comfortable teak loungers are positioned just above the pool where guests can relax whilst enjoying the quietness of the surroundings. The view over the transclucent Ionian Sea is quite stunning with the islands of Lefkada, Meganissi, Kalamos, Arkoudi, Kastos, Astakos and Scorpios rising in the distance.
The village of Pogonia is approx 200m distance where there is a bakery, mini-market and taverna. The village is uphill so car is needed.
The main town of the area is Paleros and this is on the far side of the bay about 4kms away. Here there are supermarkets, shops, tavernas and cafes including the Yacht Bar which has umbrellas and very chic loungers on the beach with WIFI access from your lounge chair. In the evenings, the sunset from Paleros is spectacular. Only 2kms away is a water-park offering lots of fun for the children as well.
This is a very cultured area of Greece with most of Byzantine Greece lying at your doorstep. Within a day trip are the ‘Monasteries of the Air’ at Meteora, the Byzantine lake town of Kastoria, the lake town of Ioanina with its little island which is steeped in Byzantine and Ottoman history, the mountain town of Meteora known for its excellent cheeses and the entire mountainous region of Epirus which is stunning with its old stone bridges, pristine nature, and medieval villages of Zagoria which are an absolute must-see if visiting this area. In addition, the villa is easily accessible being a short drive from Preveza airport.
This is an ideal family villa with plenty to see and do in the area and yet in one of the more undiscovered parts of Greece.
