Villa Portokalia is located in one of the prettiest and most charming neighbourhoods of Spetses. Kasteli used to be the old capital of the island and is just 10 mins walk from the main harbour of Dapia. The property has breathtaking views over the town of Spetses, the bay below and right out over the sea to the islands of Hydra and Dokos in the distance.
This five bedroom/five bathroom villa is privately situated with the main entrance on the upper level of the property. From the spacious verandah doors open onto a beautiful open-plan living room with gallery area featuring a stunning hand-carved vaulted ceiling. Decor is light with comfortable furnishings. The kitchen is very well equipped with an adjacent indoor dining area with an extendable dining table. The outdoor dining area is superb under the shade of the big covered verandah with large dining table and bar area which is perfect to take in the sunset views.
On the living room level, an archway leads to two bedrooms. The master bedroom with king-size bed has a nautical feel with built in wardrobes, ensuite bathroom with shower and large French windows leading to the verandah. The 2nd bedroom also features a king-size bed with ensuite bathroom, decorated in light neutral colours and with beautiful views over the bay.
From the living room, stairs lead down to the 2nd level where there is a second chill-out living room with comfortable furnishings and kitchenette. The 2nd level is beautifully decorated with a traditional Spetsiot wooden panelled ceiling. French windows from the 2nd living room lead out onto the pool terrace. On this level are three further bedrooms. The 3rd bedroom has double/twin beds and a cool and quiet feel to it. There is a separate bathroom with shower for this bedroom. The fourth bedroom is also a double/twin bedroom with ensuite bathroom with shower. The fifth bedroom is also a double/twin bedroom with ensuite bathroom.
This property has been very well designed so that the pool can be accessed directly by all levels of the villa. There is WIFI, air-conditioning and twice weekly maid service (cook and extra maid service is available). For families with babies or toddlers it is well equipped with baby cot, highchair and baby bath.
Surrounding the property is a walled garden with orange trees (the 'portokalia'), and at its heart is a wonderful swimming pool with 8 sun loungers and plenty of space for everyone to relax, with the sensational view of the bay.
The beauty of being located in Kasteli is that guests can enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the neighbourhood whilst being very close to all that Spetses has to offer. The main town of Dapia is just a 10 minute walk away with its array of shops, tavernas and bars. The Old Harbour is about 5 mins by scooter or quad bike or a 25 min walk away.
